A brand new Mikelson 57 powered with MAN 800HP engines will be arriving in San Diego in August as a Mikelson demonstrator!
The new MAN R6-800 common rail engines are a real boost in horsepower (13% approx.) and torque (34% approx.) from the past engines powering the Mikelson 57. The MAN R6-800 engines have higher displacement with lower RPM delivering great fuel efficiency and longevity.
The exterior paint stripes are minimized for a clean modern look. The Mikelson signature cockpit head, large tackle center and electronics console will be included with the staircase leading up to the massive flybridge and hardtop Marlin Tower with full controls.
The interior will be the spacious three stateroom version which has been by far the most popular and the amazing under-salon utility room will have the washer/dryer, icemaker, and abundent storage lockers. The lighting is upgraded to be 100% LED light fixtures which consume only a small fraction of the electrical power generating far less heat of past lights.
The salon overhead will have a large elliptical shaped burl veneer insert that will be totally backlit with LED ribbon lights. The satin Cherry interior will have gloss highlights complimented with Madronna Burl inserts through out. The salon overhead rod locker is included also. Light colored granite curved countertops will grace the aft galley and décor will be subtle and regal with browns and blues.
The navigational electronics planned will be the brand new Garmin Glass 8000 Helm Series with color multi-touch screens featuring the new "pinch to zoom" capability. A Brower davit and foredeck chocks will accommodate a Novurania 400DL RIB tender with a 50HP Yamaha outboard.
